debate is designed to be a place where members can discuss issues from different sides in a respectful, open-minded atmosphere. We only have a few simple rules. Show respect for others in your posting. Have an open mind. Practice intellectual honesty. Keep your sources handy, and cite them when necessary.
We are here to enjoy the spirit of debate. That means not every subject has to be serious, or important. If you want to debate the proper color for socks, that's fine. However, there are some subjects that may be too serious. If you feel passionately about something and are unwilling to consider that you may be wrong, we would prefer that you refrain from participating in debates on that topic.
